Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, detention centers, and client transport.

The Saltvik operational area includes the prisons Saltvik, Härnösand, and Ljustadalen, as well as the detention center Saltvik. Within the operational area, there is a wide range from the open women's prison Ljustadalen to the closed prison Saltvik, which, in addition to normal departments, also has one of the country's three security units. The prison in Härnösand is also a closed facility. The largest professional group is correctional officers, but there are also healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production leaders, etc. The inmates are engaged in education, various treatment programs, or work within the prison's packaging/assembly, laundry, or woodwork. You can easily reach the Saltvik prison and detention center by bus or car and park in our staff parking. The Härnösand prison is located in the town center with good bus connections and staff parking. The Ljustadalen prison is just outside Birsta and also offers staff parking and good bus connections.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In this position, you will work with your colleagues to process applications regarding inmates' requests for visitation and telephone permits in a legally secure and efficient manner. As an administrator, you will conduct investigations, risk, and needs assessments, which include considering the victim's perspective. To handle and make decisions on incoming cases, a good knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations is required. In addition to internal collaboration with the local security organization and client administrators, external collaboration and gathering information from other authorities are also included. The role includes mentoring and training colleagues in telephone, visitation matters, conducting self-checks, mail handling, administrative tasks, and providing support to other functions in the prison as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

For the position of administrator, we are looking for someone who works well with others and has the ability to be self-sufficient in your job. Your good collaboration skills and service-oriented approach enable you to easily adapt to different situations that arise. Make correct assessments and priorities. Weigh complex information and various considerations together and show judgment in statements, actions, and decisions. The work can be intense at times, which requires you to prioritize and work in a structured manner.

You are aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. We are looking for someone who has:

• A minimum of upper secondary education with a diploma
• Experience in processing cases within public operations
• Good knowledge of the Administrative Procedure Act
• Very good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form
• Good computer skills

It is advantageous if you have:

• Post-secondary education in behavioral science, criminology, or law
• Experience in collaboration between different authorities
• Experience in decision-making in public operations
• Experience in client-facing work within the correctional system is considered particularly meritorious
